Warm Sea Moss Tea
The traditional way Caribbean households have taken sea moss for generations: warmed gently into a spiced, lightly sweetened drink. Ten minutes on the stove.
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons sea moss gel
- 1 cup water or milk of choice
- 1 cinnamon stick (or 1/2 teaspoon ground)
- Pinch of grated nutmeg
- 1–2 teaspoons honey, agave, or condensed milk
- Optional: a strip of lime peel
Method
- Warm the water or milk with the cinnamon, nutmeg, and lime peel over medium-low heat — do not boil.
- Whisk in the sea moss gel until it dissolves completely, about 2 minutes.
- Remove from heat, sweeten to taste, and serve warm.
Keep the heat gentle: high heat isn’t needed and wastes nothing but time — the gel dissolves well below a simmer. Works with any of our gels; unflavored is the classic.
